Print from an aquarelle depicting Sir Francis Drake striking the fleet of king Philip of Spain in Cadiz as Philip was gathering his fleet there with the intent to sail to and invade England. Drake making a surprise visit sailing right into the harbour before its defenses could be raised. Inside, he sent out boats loaded with soldiers and well-armed sailors to torch all the warehouses and shipping in sight. this they did with great efficiency, and then sailed out again as Cadiz burned.
